Five Guys Burgers & Fries

I had the pleasure of flying through Dulles on Memorial day weekend and enjoying a Five Guys loaded burger and fries.

First let me say the fries were probably the best I've ever eaten, crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside.

I got a "loaded burger" with green pepper and jalapeƱos added. I could hardly get the burger (two of them on the bun actually) into my mouth. As I was eating it, a bunch of grease leaked out of the foil wrapper onto the brown paper bag I had placed on my lap to catch any spillage. A real "greasy burger".

So my question is, how do these compare to In & Out Burger which I've never eaten? They recently opened a couple of In & Out Burgers in Dallas and if they are comparable, I'd make the drive.

Damn! I just did a Google search and there's a Five Guys here in Dallas by the Galleria! I'd go there just to get the fries!

Please post your comparisons/thoughts?
i had heard of this place, but we didn't have them here. then one just apeared a while back.......right next door to my gym. sometime I would like to try it, but maybe not right before or after a trip to the gym
They just opened up one here. I haven't had the chance to try one yet.
We have them here in CT. Don't go all the time, but when we do, the whole family shares the ONE order of fries. The portions are HUGE!! Order small, unless you haven't eaten in like a week. This place is not a dieters dream, but the burgers are really really good. I have only eaten at the In and Out burger, once..I'd take five guys anyday. WE were in Aruba in May and Five Guys was there.

They are all over the Dallas area now along with two In n Out Burgers with more coming. We ate at the Five Guys in Mesquite. I thought for a fast food burger, it was too expensive compared to In n Out.
The two In-N-Outs here in Dallas area (Frisco and Allen) are, unless things have changed in two weeks, too busy to bother with. About ten days after they opened I drove by the Allen location around 5 P.M. Saturday and there were literally 200 or more cars in the drive-through.

Reminds me of when the first Krispy Kreme opened a mile from my house in So. California...the lines were ridiculous for two months or more
I definitely rank Five Guys higher than In-N-Out.
- Fries are light years better.
- More toppings to choose from for your burger. I get A-1 sauce, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato.

I limit myself to one visit a month because their food is as unhealthy as it is yummy
Ive had both .... the guys and the In N Out, and Im not really impressed with either.

If you guys really want a really great burger, I know of a "family restaurant" near LAX that has a really great burger.

I put Five Guys and In N Out on the top of the fast food burgers list only.
5 Guys are sprouting up all over S Fla. They are packed during normal feeding times.

The fries are "real", not reconstituted-watered down crap. #1 IMO.

Portions are huge, burgers cooked to order, blows away the "drive thru" joints.

Of course you'll pay a little more.

I've already eaten at the one in Frisco. It is already open for about two weeks now!!!
