Flalmingo questions

Staying at Flamingo for 4 nights and wonder if the construction around the site causes any taxi issues coming from the airport? generally pay about 15 plus tip for taxi from airport to flamingo. Also, have stayed at Flamingo many times, from a compliementary upgraded GO room, which I liked, to a suite that was terrible. We mostly have stayed in the rooms that the elevators are to the left of the check in ( near the shopping area.) does any one know what that area is called. Stayed in the older part a few years ago and it was pretty bad, pretty beat up. Have all the rooms been renovated?
I think that is the Spa Tower. That's where I stayed in a very non-renovated suite.

I wouldn't worry about the construction.
Most of the construction traffic clogs up the alleys and road behind Flamingo...not so much the strip. I stayed at the HIVC Resort behind Flamingo in January and construction was an issue during the day...but I got over it.
I've stayed at the Flamingo twice in the last 4 years and I agree, it is worth the extra $$$ to upgrade to Go room. The older rooms can be quite a bit run down. The construction in January was not a big issue for the Flamingo - you could still enter from the strip but the back entrance required you to go an additional block east. This may have changed when Bill's shutdown for rennovation.
