Flamingo?

Have a flight booked in August, and looking at staying at the Flamingo because of price, location, and pool. All the reviews online I have read are negative about this property. Am I better off staying at Harrahs for cheaper? I was planning on Flamingo because of the better pool than Harrahs. Any feedback?

The Flamingo pool is definately nicer than Harrah's. If the pool is important to you then you will be happy with your decision. The basic Flamingo rooms seem a little bigger to me than the basic Harrah rooms. The Flamingo does have some basic rooms that are really old and worn but they are very nice about switching your room if you have a legitimate complaint about what you are given. You did book a 3 star property as long as that is okay with you then you will be satisfied I am sure.

I like the ole girl and the location can't be beat. Everyone there is nice. Tim

I was booked for the Flamingo but caught a deal through LVA and my Total Rewards card and moved to Caesars for an extra $20 a night over a Flamingo GO room. We like the pool and if you want a Caesars (CET) property, it's either Flamingo or Caesars. I wish PH had a nicer pool. I like the PH.

We've stayed their a couple times in a standard room and they were fine with us. Bathrooms are a little small but room is self was plenty big enough.Staff there is great and the pool is outstanding. Can't beat the location either.

Awesome, thank you everyone for your help. I was worried because all of the reviews I read said it was old and dirty, and the staff was rude and unhelpful. We don't spend much time in the hotel room anyway, so it sounds perfect for us! Only 4 months to go!

The location is great. The standard rooms are dumpy, but If you like staying in hotel rooms that have musty smelling 20-25 year old decor and beat up furnishings i guess it is ok.

Malibber - I agree. We stayed in the Falmingo and did the $20 trick for an upgraded room (not a Go room) and it was old, beat up and not nice at all. For less money, I would stay at Bill's and you can use the Flamingo Pool if the pool is your thing.

Since you want to use the pool, get there when it opens because it fills up as people go early drop towels on the chairs and disappear.

That sucks. Thought most hotels kept an eye on that. The last 2 summers we have stayed at Mirage and Venetain and they were pretty diligent in that if the towels were there for 15-30 minutes unattended they took them and opened up the spot to anyone. That was nice not to have to get out of bed at 8 am to join the rush.
