Flash Mobs Escalating Violence

You should all be happy you don't live where I do, in Philadelphia, which is the unofficial flash mob capital of the world. Just last weekend a woman was leaving work with some friends in downtown Philly and were set upon by the mob of kids. It wasn't enough that they robbed the woman, they also purposely broke her arm. Ironically, the woman works for a lib newspaper. (not that there's anything wrong with that) And of course, we're NEVER allowed to mention the race of the attackers.

Curtis, I am indeed VERY happy to be living where you are not.

I was in Philly on June 25. Saw no mobs. Did not eat at City Tavern. We ate at the Dandelion. A homeless man cursed at me when I refused his request for money.

Oh-h-h-h-h-h !
Just off Rittenhouse Square, . . . a bit ritzy for poor, old DonDiego.

DonDiego will stick to the City Market, . . . and maybe Chickie's and Pete's before an Eagles game - for a nominal fee they'll let one park and ride the "Taxi Crab" to/from the game.

I will not offer any opinions on those who are homeless or how one should react to those begging, but isn't it ironic that many homeless people have a better personal balance sheet than many who they ask for money. Think of all those young people upside down on their mortgages and car loans, with credit card debts and student loans to pay off. They would all be very happy to get back to zero.

so what does this have to do with a flash mob?
Unfortunately, the Press has begun referring to the mobs of youths descending upon convenience stores, and more recently even upscale stores, for the purpose of theft as "flash mobs", thereby amending the original term which referred to spontaneous performance artists.

It's not DonDiego's fault !

I think the performance artists should be thrown in jail too, nobody needs to see that!!!!
