Flint Michigan Water: Another Example of What Happens When You Put Conservatives in Charge

The conservative brains in Michigan decided they could save millions by switching Flint from Lake Huron water to water from the Flint River. Smart people everywhere said no that water is dangerous. The Governor said FY that water is safe and I am going to make you switch because I put my non-elected emergency manager in charge. They switched and yesterday the governor and crew had to admit that they have been rigging the tests for a few years to show the water was safe when it wasn’t. Now the state and its taxpayers are going to have to pay billions out in damages to the families of all the kids they poisoned.

And it could be done without your beloved EPAs approval?

Then there’s Detroit -- not just the water but the whole damn city -- as a shining example of what happens when you leave Liberals and Progressives in charge for decades.

Your description of the Flint water problem is a little over simplified . The city of Flint (city council) decided a couple of years ago to quit buying their water from Detroit as a cost saving measure and start using water from the Flint river until a pipeline system from Lake Huron (KWA) could be constructed. There certainly is enough blame to go around about the incompetent decisions made at the local and state levels...democrat..republican...liberal...conservative. The city of Flint has been in decline for decades, along with Detroit...both cities are a total mess. I grew up not too far from Flint and moved away in the early 80's. You couldn't give me enough money to move back to what has become a cesspool. When I read about the city getting water from the Flint river a couple of years ago, I couldn't believe that they were serious. The lack of competent leadership at the state and local level in Michigan has been a problem for a very long time and goes way beyond blaming the current administration. I am not defending Gov Snyder's actions; just pointing out that bad decisions/planning were made at both the local and state level over the course of several years. Some of those decisions being based on the local government being in dire financial straits.

That's because rick Snyder acts more like a dictator than a governor.Several years ago,the voters voted down the emergency manager law.And yet somehow,we have EM's.

No these are the folks that voted for Governor Rick Snyder and then he poisoned their kids with lead. When presented with irrefutable proof his water was tainted, he chose to keep on poisoning the kids and faked the test results.

Not to mention he gave billions of dollars in tax cuts to corporations and then raised taxes on retirees.

I watched the American Greed episode that featured Kwame. No matter how the TV show could spin it and the reality of Kwames corruption was pretty undeniable. Even his father's phony corp. was laughable. Unbelievable he got re-elected.
