Florida keys`

Damn, why are you trying to scare him to death? I've never seen a croc or alligator in the Keys. No monkeys either. About the only kind of wild animal I've seen were those stupid roosters and chickens that run around loose. If staying in the wrong place, they'll get you up at the rise of dawn.

There's also a great place downtown which serves a mean breakfast. Can't remember the name, but you can look it up in that booklet I'm sending you!

Bags is pretty close to "right". Most of the monkeys are contained on the islands, or in Monkey Jungle. Occasionally there may be an escapee, but they usually don't last long before being caught and returned.

The chickens and roosters run rampant, and can be found on most islands along the way. There's a Circle K about halfway that may have upwards of 100 or more. LOL

As for the Crocs and Gators, they are there, usually in the swamps - marsh areas, backwaters and canals, etc. Not a large population of crocs, and not the type that inhabit the Nile River that we see on National Geographic bringing down water buffalo, etc. Hard to find since they are reclusive. Also, the snakes eat them. Google "snake eats gator" if you choose to see images.

Enjoy yourselves, it's usually a very relaxing place.

......... Oh I forgot to add there are panthers running wild in the Keys too

FACTOID OF THE DAY #1 ..... The Florida Panther is Florida's official state animal.

FACTOID OF THE DAY #2 ..... That's where the NHL team got its nickname (Florida Pathers).

Panthers elephants monkeys and crocs,OH MY! Shoot, doesn't rhyme. Well,i don't think we'll be around any such surroundings that there will be any danger and i'm not a PIAW type anyway,HA. My wife did say she always wanted a monkey so i'll keep that a secret so we don't end up some damn primate hunt. If needed, are shotguns available to take care of any dangers we might encounter? Actually,i haven't dug in yet on research but i do have some info from a couple places (thx bagiant) snail mail,so i plan on diving in soon, looking forward to it,gives me something cool to do. Time to start thinking bout heading south.
