Florida Poker Bad Beat jackpot Monster amount! HIT!

January 2, 2011:

This starts at $100,000. Builds daily until hit.

The poker Bad beat Jackpot for Florida Seminole Tribe Casino poker rooms is now a monster at:

$538,106

Lose with 4 OAK 10's or better.
Both hole cards must play to best possible hand.
All 4 OAK's must have a pocket pair.

Loser of hand gets 50%
Winner gets 30%
Everyone dealt into hand at table shares 20% equally.

Do I have this correctly: the bad beat is quads over quads or better?

Well, at The Bike in LA that is a super bad beat jackpot that is 200K and it was hit twice in 2010. Once quad jacks beat quad tens, the other time quad tens beaten by a straight flush.

there is also a bad beat jackpot for aces full of tens or better losing, and that bad beat jackpot starts at 20K and usually hits at under 35K.

Ive been at the tables twice, but never was in the "bad beat hand."
I know one bad beat story.
It happened to my pal Harv and fellow LVAer's Uncle Artie.

Artie BadBeat is his nickname (I am not kidding)
Artie Badbeat is in his upper 60's or early 70's. He's played poker all his life.
a bad beat paid off.
We were all at Caesars AC when Artie's pocket Aces lost. I am sorry- I don't know the cards or what he got beat with but I do know-- he got $62,000.00

Before this he might have gotten a free buffet- After, they took him home in a limo

Pocket Aces and ? I think it would take more than a pair . I don't know.

Caesars AC used to have Aces Full of 10's (maybe jacks) or better beat for their Bad beat jackpot. Both hole cards had to play.

Pocket Aces is powerful when the Bad beat requirements are Aces full, since when they do make the full house, another player may have 4 OAK.

Today's "trend" in Bad Beat jackpots is 4 OAK beaten, both hole cards must play. Usually the 4 OAK's must be a pocket pair, but not in every room. It is important to check the rules and qualifications when playing in those games, as they differ widely from room to room.

Actually, they fail to update frequently. A "better" link is:

They also fail to update on occasion. The jackpot is supposed to be updated at 6 pm daily.

Last time it was big, and hit, they did not update for 4 days.

I prefer to telephone for the new number before going to sleep. I will than know if it's been hit, and that I'm getting accurate information.

I always telephone several poker rooms to check bad beats and promotions, before deciding where I'm going to play and leaving my home on any given day.

$548,095.00

Whew!
For those that care, or are curious:

The Bad Beat Jackpot is funded by taking $1.00 from every pot over $10.00.

40% of that money is centrally pooled for the bad beat jackpot. The remainder is kept by the local room to fund promotions, and 100% is allegedly returned to the players. Some of the rooms take $2.00 per pot, (a second $1.00 when the pot reaches $20.00) and that additional money is held by the room and used locally for promotions.

The centrally pooled jackpot money is distributed as follows: 60% to the main BBJ, 30% to a secondary BBJ, and 10% to a third backup BBJ.

That means that when this BBJ is hit, the "new" one should start at $270+ K if my thinking is logical and information correct. We'll see.

The "odds" of hitting are difficult to compute, but should be in the arena of 650,000 - 1.

I am not surprised it's this big. I also know it has been hit 3 times in one month, and twice in one week, so a long dry spell is also to be expected.

I think that most of the casinos around LA take 50% of the bad beat pool for their own administrative costs. That to me is a rip off. Few players know that the casino is skimming so much of the players' jackpot money. it really becomes a secondary rake. I doubt that when the casino pays a 30-thousand jackpot that it costs them 30-thousand to administer the program.
