Football Proxy Betters

I was just looking at the LVA Sports page and I saw the section about the casinos yearly football contests. I remember a little about finding proxy people that would submit your picks for you, but is there a website that lists people that would do this for you, and what they charge, or do you have to find them on your own.

Thanks

Is that legal?

I at one time mentioned to the clerk I was placing some bets for people in the office and he told me that I shouldn't say anything like that, because it is illegal to go and place bets for someone. It is okay to cash a ticket for them.
It is legal in some season long contests for a proxy person to submit the weekly selections for out of town players as long as the original person makes the initial bet and collects the money won at the end. I'm guessing that you have to have confidence in the person getting your selections posted in time so you don't lose out. I think I read somewhere that they charge a weekly fee (a few bucks), plus a percentage of any winnings. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any services out there and what they charge.

I've actually been asked by a few people if I would do that for them. It's a bit more complicated than it first appears. I want to see how my routine works out before committing to anyone.

There was a short-lived TV show where that wild guy would bring in players to Vegas and tell them who to bet on, collected a percentage of winnings.

Big money bets. He would pump them up, take them to strip clubs, etc. to distract them from going bonkers when his picks lost.

The 'customers' put their own money down at the window themselves, I think.

What was that show? I watched it purely for a Vegas fix!
Steve Stevens, the guy is a sleaze ball. The show was on CNBC called Money Talks. He took 50% of the winnings. But his clients were fools to use his service in the first place. BTW billyryan if you do decide to do it I may be giving you a call (lol).

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the season long contests, run by the sports books, where they pay out to the people that have the most wins for the season. You pay the one time fee to enter the contest then you, or your proxy, make your picks every week till the end of the season. You pay your guy/gal a small fee to go to the casino every week to submit your picks and you pay them a small fee for doing this for you. If you win any money at the end of the year, you have to back to Vegas to collect your winnings. You then pay them a percentage of your winnings for their final fee.

They are not making individual bets on games. They are only submitting your picks and no money changes hands except for the fee, therefore, its legal as long as it's in the contest rules.
