We're a couple weeks behind this year because of the long cool spring. Will be a short harvest season, since temps are already in the 90's and all the larger-sized varieties have stopped putting on fruit. Just today we finally have a slight blush on a few Cherokee Purples and Black Krims. Life is so much better with fresh tomatoes.....

DonDiego is jealous. But his garden is actually ahead of schedule as well. He's been harvesting radishes and lettuce, but the carrots are lagging.

He'll likely get his earliest tomatoes before the 4th of July. DonDiego is also growing a grafted Cherokee Purple, . . . but that'll come in quite a bit later.

The only thing behind schedule is DonDiego's hottest pepper - the infamous Bhut Jolokia from Thailand - one-time holder of the world record for heat.. He expects to transplant them into the garden tomorrow.

Those peppers have no use. They are way, way too hot to eat or cook with.
