Jersey, the land where people like Snookie live, where the state bird is a crow, where a gourmet dinner is dumpster diving, and where hobos go on vacation.

what did new jersey ever do to you? i mean, i dont particularly care for the state. my only time spent there is atlantic city once every other year and when bands i want to see play shows there. but it seems something happened to you there that causes you to go completely over the end with irrational over-exagerations when its brought up and i have to admit, im curious on the background story.
New Joisy gave us Bruce Springsteen . I'm from Boston . Have a lot of friends from Joisy. They say I am fron Barston.

New Joisy also gave us the Sopranos.

New Joisy also gave a once all time girl's college in my town a big part of its enrollment.

New Joisy me my only involvement in a 50 car pile-up at the Bricktown Toll booth.

Can't wait to get back to Joisy ( Atlantic City)

Getting back to the thread . I rather be in Vegas . See you in April.

The last time I was there the year was 1989 or so. I took a day trip to AC and was not impressed. The decor was kinda a Detroit lite (a tad trashy with not many people wandering around the streets.) Come to think of it, the ONLY time I actually did see people was around the casinos. Even then, the amount of folks was very small. (much like walking around downtown Vegas before 10AM, pretty dead) The gambling sucked, food was really expensive ($6.00 for a hamburger, and $2.00 for a coffee), and not many games to play in the casino. Ballys was like being in a rather large bar, very small for a casino.

I make jokes because the only thing I see is a state much like the city of Detroit or our rather own version of Detroit better known as Toledo. By not comparing Jersey to either of these 2 places, I was in fact giving your state a compliment. At least in your state, you actually have people who do work, in the northern sections of mine (Ohio), jobs are just a 4 letter word which one never finds.

atlantic city used to be really terrible. its fixed up around the casinos now, all these fancy schmancy department stores, but i still hate it there so much. im not going there to look at department stores, im going there to win a bazillion dollars.

i completely agree about it being ridiculously overpriced. and in addition to that, you have to pay tax on a COMPED room. eff you atlantic city.

Are you ok? I mean a woman who doesn't want to look at a department store, your sure you don't have a fever?

So if both you and Karen win, we may have a problem of no money left. Just leave some for the rest of us....
a couple of years ago, i went to a show with a friend of mine. there were no advanced online tickets, but you could show up at the venue like two hours early to get stamped so we did that. then we had two hours to kill. she wanted to go to the nearby mall. i wanted to go to the nearby bar.

malls, department stores, all that crap = death.
Another woman here that doesn't want to shop. I leave that up to my husband (he's world class at it).

We took my 7 Stars trip in 2006 to Atlantic City. We had fun only because of the East Coast LVAers that made it fun for us, but AC is certainly no Vegas. It's not a horrible place, but there were too many people looking for handouts not just on the Boardwalk, but coming into the casino while you were playing at a machine -- trying to sell you some piece of crap or asking for money.

On that trip I didn't have to pay room taxes, but the offers I'm getting from Harrah's now for airfare and hotel to AC clearly state you must pay a $13 per night room tax.
that $13 really grinds my gears.
Mine, too, Jen. If I'm comped, I should be comped. Period. I don't want a bill for anything at the end of my stay. It's just principle when you're putting money at risk in the casino!
Between you and Karen, Christmas season must be a hoot.

The only 2 women in the entire world that I know of who don't like shopping???
