Were you going to tell me my source was just a gossip? Just for you I have found the actual indictment.

Actual Indictment

No. It's all over the news. I was going to speculate on the nature of his original transgression...and then I thought that's not right.

3,...2,..1,.

I wonder what type of misconduct one would have to engage in to make them cough up $3.5 million dollars in cash? I wonder if individual A is male or female?

As to the actual arrest....Anyone should be able to withdraw as much of their own cash from their own bank account as they want without extra scrutiny by the Federal Government. That is, unless you are a suspect in a crime and they have a warrant to examine your banking records.

I actually agree with you on that point, but Mr. Hastert does not. He pushed that part of the Patriot Act through the House when he was Speaker at the behest of the Bush administration.

And isn't it ironic, don't you think
A little too ironic, and yeah I really do think
Should we repeat the list of lousy Illinois pols? And both sides of the aisle would be well represented......I'm from Illinois, I know about crooked politicians and lousy government.
The only thing that amazes me is that over 50% of the national voting public managed to elect an Illinois pol to the White House twice, and is considering doing the same again!
Look into some of the land deals made by these two and we could open another wing in the Illinois Politicians Penitentiary. LOL, we have Governors, we have Congressman, all we need is a President........'all we need is a President', is something the nation should be saying, not just Illinois.

That's right, I'm sure all child molesters, let's go ahead and throw ALL molesters in there as well, are republicans. I have it on good authority that Chester was a registered republican tho.

I think this cash withdrawal snooping sprang from Money Laundering laws from the ill fated The War On Drugs, not the Patriot Act. Either way, I'm sure he supported it.

Bigger picture. A public "servant" that dedicates their life to public "service", so many sacrifices for the common good! Yeah right. How does he have $3.5 million to spare? All these crooks both dem and rep continue to build our national debt while they line their pockets. They align themselves with lobbyists while in office and then get on all kinds of board of directors after they get out of office to make more millions. All are scumbags.

Hey, I quoted Mal, not chafro. Odd. I was responding to Mal's Josh Duggar is a republican too comment.

My apologies to chafro, I don't know what happened there.

You are slandering the former congressman; he probably came by the $3.5 million completely honestly, lobbying for corporations seeking to buy votes in Congress. And under our current laws, just about unlimited corporate spending to buy votes and elections is completely legal. Even foreign owned corporations get to do it.

But there's good news. There's a group of people dedicated to changing those laws. These people are known as "liberals." Unfortunately, there's another group opposed: you guessed it, they're known as "conservatives."

So next time you complain about the power and corruption of money in politics, maybe you should vote to make a difference. Or as an alternative, maybe you should just shut up about it.
you're nuttier than a fruitcake. Liberals = good, conservatives = bad. Sure it's that simple. Plus you're an internet tough guy telling people to shut up. Wow, what delusional sob.
