You are slandering the former congressman; he probably came by the $3.5 million completely honestly, lobbying for corporations seeking to buy votes in Congress. And under our current laws, just about unlimited corporate spending to buy votes and elections is completely legal. Even foreign owned corporations get to do it.
But there's good news. There's a group of people dedicated to changing those laws. These people are known as "liberals." Unfortunately, there's another group opposed: you guessed it, they're known as "conservatives."
So next time you complain about the power and corruption of money in politics, maybe you should vote to make a difference. Or as an alternative, maybe you should just shut up about it.
