Most always crap like this doesn't even phase me. Idiots have a right to spew free speech. I have a right not to listen.

This time however I am pissed. Not because some idiot believes it proves that Trump is an "alt-right" leader but because it took place at my alma mater.

Back in my day (I like being able to say that) that speech would have never been finished. Yep, we would have infringed on that idiots right to free speech. Saw it happen more than once in my 4 years there. I may or may not have participated in such infringements. One case in particular when the KKK was to have a walk across campus to end in a rally at the row of honky tonks just off campus. They were shut down and run off before they ever got started. The crowd at the bars, both military and civilian students, was huge. The KKK and open hatred/racism was not going to be tolerated. And there wasn't a cop in sight.

I'm not saying racism didn't exist in Texas or at Texas A&M. Racism, while not rampant, was by no means rare. However, it was kept in check by the majority of the student body. I had always believed that great strides have been made in eliminating racial prejudices but lately it seems things are falling back to a worse situation than when I was a kid in school. I honestly believe that you can thank liberal/progressive policy for the proliferation of this type of hate speech.

What so called liberal policies do you believe lead to the rise in racism? To me, it is easy to correlate the rise in racism with the rise of the alternative media that profits in trafficking things like Mr. Spencer says. For example, a hell of a lot of money was made by the conservative media promoting the racist birther movement. We have a President that rose to political power by promoting that crackpot racial conspiracy theory. Like it or not the conservative movement is currently run by practicing racists like Mr. Spencer. Mr. Trump and Mr. Bannon.

A good laxative will give immense relief.

Hate speech is protected. There was a time when it was not. Progressive policy gave protections to this type of garbage. The more people hear hate, and are told that it is OK for people to say such things, the more they believe that it (hate) is OK.

I agree with you on the role of modern media.

The conservative movement needs an enema to expel all the racism and racists stopping it up.

this week a gullible, uninformed reader of libel, fake news went Rambo on a family pizza restaurant based on the information he read therein. DonDiego seems to feel its to not practical to respond to this incident and the motivations that sparked it. Bummer. Can't help him with that.

I just hope censorship isn't taken too far (by all the liberals who just won the election). Without fake news how will DonDiego strike up a conversation on this forum?
