Confronted with this comically absurd failure, their instinct is not only to lie, shift blame, and refuse responsibility, but to do so in laughably unbelievable ways. It’s all a big joke when the crisis in question is a plagiarized speech by a would-be first lady. It won’t be so funny when a President Trump tries to manage a truly life-and-death crisis in the same blundering, dopey, and cowardly way."

After all the gloating by the media about how bad the Republican convention was, the recent polls now have Trump in the lead

You have no idea of what is actually defined as plagiarism. Bits and pieces of similar statements made by others within the total context of a speech or written work don't constitute plagiarism without looking at the total speech or written work. The threshold for punishment or expulsion at the university level requires less than 83% or 84% (I can't remember the exact percentage) of the work to be original. Those standards would also apply to legal matters pertaining to plagiarism. Mrs. Trump's speech contained less than 3% of similar statements made by the guy who is married to Øbama. No one broke the law.
