Frank Gifford passes away

The last of the original Monday Night Football broadcast team.

The greatest Giant EVER! Too bad he cheated on his wife!
Yes, very sad....I really respect people that publicly were humiliated and yet, let their egos go and did what needed to be done for their families. We all have family trials (they may be varied), but kudos to them for doing what needed to be done instead of letting the media and public define their family for them. That takes courage, strength and faith....of which, I think Kathie Lee has. And while, not familiar with Frank that much, he obviously was a talented and dedicated football player and must have been a decent family man to also make the changes needed for their family. She always speaks with love and adoration for him. Also different generations had different norms...they seemed to have gotten over their issues and I respect them for keeping their family together....may all sleep well at night. I think they (and others like them) really show more family values this way. I hope the Duggars can do this too. Families are defined in the struggles, not the good times.

It isn't so much about standing by your man, as standing by yourself and not media/public/peers when you face a hardship (any hardship), but doing what is best for you and yours at the end of the day. Often issues aren't one sided, although they can be...it takes character to fix things instead of quit.
Technically Frank wasn't an original member of the MNF broadcast team. Keith Jackson did play by play for 1970 and Gifford arrived for the 1971 season.

That is true, however Howard, Dandy Don and Gifford were the face of Monday night Football.
I am a HUGE Giants fan. That being said, Frank was, in his later years, a nasty drunk. I used to drive for a Town Car service and he was a client. He was so nasty and abusive to so many of our drivers that we dropped him as a client. 2 other CT Limo companies did the same. He was a great football player, too bad he tarnished his image with tis Giants fan
I had no idea he was so HANDSOME when he was young!
