Free $75 from class action suit for any lawnmower bought from 1994 thru Apr. 2010

I hate to revive a long dead thread but I wanted to thank the original poster for starting it.

I got my check yesterday, and while it wasn't the full $75 because they had so many people who responded its still $21.84 I wouldn't have had otherwise.
Was it really worth the effort....

My wife received an announcement last week of a class action suit for a financial company that handled a mortgage of hers years ago. She would receive $10 for the effort of filling out 3 pages of questions and sending that in with proof of her having the loan. Hardly worth it time wise. Of course the lawyers were to receive millions in payments for their effort in helping out the poor damaged people that had dealt with this mortgage company. Who wins here? Why do judges allow that type of thing to happen? Oh yeah, they used to be lawyers....
We get ten dollars while the law firms get MILLIONS. Does that seem fair?
May 23, we just received 2 checks for for $10.00 each for our lawnmowers from a case a few years back.

I had completely forgotten about this claim. May be my check will be arriving soon.
I would gladly pay $20 if it would somehow cost a lawyer somewhere, anywhere, $100.

No problem. For the next month, make non stop calls to the Scam Lawyers' 800 numbers (They have to pay for those calls). Each call, try to get them to hang on the line as long as possible. For example: tell them to "hold on a minute.....you want them to talk to your Grandma".....then just set the phone down....Of course you'll want to use your voice over IP system to call them or they'll have your phone number and start calling you non stop for the next month.

When you get to the point where you think you've cost them $100, pay yourself $20.

Was that a copy of a dollar????
LOL. nope.

My Gilette razor has a class action with it. I love that razor.
My favorite class action lawsuit involved a stock manipulation of Clothestime (CTME). It was a gal's clothing store chain in Southern California and Nevada. The big shareholders manipulated the stock with false reports, false earnings, etc. I think on my $1,000 loss on 100 shares (it was a low priced stock, and I got out before it went to zero), I got a check for $3.80 which I framed and displayed on my desk. Yes, the frame cost more than the value of the check.
