Anyone may walk into DonDiego's Chick-Fil-A with any church bulletin and take advantage of the free chicken sandwich offer.
One may obtain the church bulletin by walking into a church and picking one up. DonDiego supposes that's how just about everyone taking advantage of the offer obtains their bulletin.
It doesn't matter if one associates oneself with the church, or with another church, or no church at all.
Anyone may pick up a church bulletin and get a free sandwich ! ! ! If one chooses to be baptized at the time, he may request it, but it is not necessary, . . . neither is confession, . . . or hymn singing, . . . or snake handling. Just pick up a church bulletin and get free chicken !
n.b. For the record, poor old DonDiego is not a member of any church. He hasn't pledged himself to any God; he's confused by the plethora of available Gods and fears he might choose the wrong one. That could be a big mistake. And he's not sure any of them is "real" anyway.
DonDiego does occasionally attend church, because his wife likes him to do so, . . . usually on church holidays and such. He found himself in a large church on Easter Sunday with his wife and daughter and little granddaughter; somehow his granddaughter has wormed her way into poor old DonDiego's course old heart.
Anyway the church had a small band accompanying the choir and congregation. DonDiego never participates in the singing. But, . . . on this Easter one of the hymns was Schiller's Ode to Joy *, which DonDiego knows by heart in German. So while everyone sang along in English, DonDiego enjoyed singing joyously in German.
It was wonderful.
*The Ode to Joy is featured in the final movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, . . . one of DonDiego's favorite pieces of music.
