Free For All- Only Vegas topics challenge

I find it interesting that most of the folks who complain about "Free for All" topics never, or rarely, initiate a Vegas topic. The problem is not too many political topics, but instead not enough Vegas topics. I challenge you complainers to start a Vegas topic more than three times a year. How about starting a Vegas topic three times a month?

I submit, however, that even if we successfully increased Vegas topics to 20 per day, some would still complain about politics...........because some folks like to complain. Otherwise, why in World would folks who hate political banter click on topics certain to contain political banter.

I added a Vegas topic earlier today. How about you?

On this point I pretty much agree with boiler. Quit complaining and start typing, bring on the vegas topics! I'll throw in my two cents wherever applicable. I'll be waiting to see what new vegas topics there are.

Individuals have control over their actions and if politics is a turnoff the answer is simply not to click on any of it. However, that does no one looking for a cyber outlet to chill and chat, whether about Vegas or other but not politics, any good, and sends them away, which is why so many over the years migrated either full or part time to vmb and elsewhere.

But politics is the lingua franca here, and that has been the case for years now. Duh. Actually, let's not call it politics, let's call it mutually blinded partisan tripery. Absent much Vegas chatter, and not seeing a lot of other topics of interest at play and about which people talk and banter, what else is there?

You want this to happen because then you will feel justified typing your political views in drunk sailor font. Sadly, you will probably get your wish. The majority of people who would engage in Vegas threads are now doing so on Vegas boards that stick to solely Vegas topics.

Let's examine Clark's Las Vegas topic participation rate. Over the past 13 months, he's commented on six Vegas topics and initiated zero Vegas topics. Clarkvegas is clearly not part of the solution for more Vegas comments.

You are correct. When I wish to discuss a Vegas topic, I do so on a board that is primarily full of Vegas topics.

I welcome the challenge because it will just prove my point that there will be very little posted here. We beat this subject to death in a thread a little while back. I say let's try for three months and see if it picks up again here a FFA.

The contention a while back was people left because of all of the non Vegas chatter. I contend that for the most part Vegas talk has been worn out for most of us. You can only discuss shows, hotels, gambling conditions etc so much and the big, glory days of LV are long gone. Sure it is the Superbowl of gambling but with all of the casinos so much closer to home now, Vegas doesn't hold the allure it once did for many of us.

Yep, lets go for three months, I bet you will be able to go 30 days before a topic scrolls over to the second page.
I am just hoping to see a little more Vegas and a little less....well you know. I rarely see attacks, disputes, etc. on Vegas related threads.

Right. Why invest any energy in a forum that has become a toxic wasteland.

Likewise, I converse with Ken Van Vechten (above) in other formats. Same with dozens of other former prominent posters.
