Free Speech dies at CPAC

Politico

The same guy that protesters stopped from speaking at Berkley just got stripped out of his CPAC speaking slot. He made some comments interpreted as being "Pro-pedophilia".

I guess free speech died ....again.
Give that dick his ten minutes of fame and send him on his way.
I suspect he'll end up as Brightbarts White House correspondent .

May DonDiego assume that the folks at the Conservative Political Action Conference did not set fires and break windows and achieve over $100,000 in damage from such vandalism, at least.

Probably. But whAt does that have to do with free speech? And the intolerant people who stop it?

So, what you are saying is CPAC shut down free speech just because they wanted to not because they were worried about fires being set, vandalism, safety or crowd control? Seems kind of cowardly to me. Why don’t they want to hear what Milo has to say?
Free Speech did not die on the Bill Maher show. Milo Yianopoulis was the interview guest on Friday.

Watch the exchange here

it was pretty much a softball interview that did not tackle substance of any of his positions. Seems to me like he's figured out the more controversial he is the more popular he becomes. I don't take him too seriously.
Actions have consequences. Speak as if pedophilia is humorous, expect the consequences.

And how does "free speech" require anyone or any organization to invite or disinvite anybody to their speak at their functions?

Unless people take a stand against what is blatantly not acceptable in polite society, expect for pedophilia and the like to become 'acceptable' one day.

I won't bring up the holocaust.

It is the two Dons (Donald Trump and Don Diego) that disagree with you. They both blew a gasket when Milo’s event at UCLA was canceled because of the security concerns created by his free speech.
Looks like his ten minutes is up. Screw him.

To answer pjstroh's question: ". . . whAt does that have to do with free speech? And the intolerant people who stop it?"

Anyone who invites someone to speak at an event is free to cancel the invitation at any time. This has nothing to do with "free speech" being shut down. [See CPAC, above.]

Anyone who opposes someone, say someone invited to speak at a campus, is free to express that opposition and even demonstrate against the speaker. [Observe on-campus groups on most any day.]

Anyone who opposes a speaker through mob violence, . . . destroying property, setting fires, physically attacking those whom they oppose, . . . is violating the Law and, more specifically in this matter, . . . because the intent of the rioting is to stop the speaker, . . . violating the right of the invited speaker to speak. [Observe Berkely on 1 February 2017]
