Free Summer Concerts on Fremont

But who's on cowbell, that's the real question.
Looks like most of those concerts are on a week end. I'll miss 'em.
they will put a few bands up during the week, but ones not as well known.
They DO hire some talent however.
I'll be out there with my plastic cup of beer, weaving through the crowds.(BEER!).
Wallet's in my front pocket, under Velcro.

FSE: Freaks Standing Everywhere!
Here is my photo from a few minutes before KC and the Sunshine Band show last night - and there were just about as many people behind me. There's a bit of distortion, because it's an Android Surround Shot, which essentially stitched about eight individual shots into one composition (eat your heart out, alanleroy).

KC's opening song was "Shake Your Bootie," and he even brought a few bootie shakers with him.

I'm not much of a KC fan however, and after the first number I returned to the 1st Street Stage for the show I had really come to see, Sam Riddle. He used to be in Vegas a lot, at Red Rock and Sunset Stations, and Gilley's, but I think now he's headquartered in Memphis. He's very good, has some first-rate original material, and he could actually make it big. Of course I've said that before about other bands, and I haven't been right yet.

And for some reason my wife liked his show better.

I would get a VIP pass from the Four Queens to be able to stand that mob.

This is in response to jatki99's post about the cowbell. I know you're kidding but I'm happy to tell you that it's always a crew member / technician on the side of the stage. It's not one of the band members like the SNL skit shows.

4 Queens bar, no standing required....

FYI, I would love to see the Motels and the Tubes.
For the last slot on 7/10, they just announced Dropkick Murphys. I'm not that familiar, but Celtic punk is usually a lot of fun.
I think I would like Celtic Punk ---- but I cannot say I have ever heard that genre.....
Dropkick Murphys are awesome. Try "Shipping out to Boston" from The Departed
