Free Summer Concerts on Fremont

It wasn't Fremont Street, but Junefest at Sunset Station. And it wasn't free, but almost - $12 for early bird cheap seat purchases (thanks LVA Today's News!). But at Junefest yesterday I enjoyed seeing the Romantics ("What I Like About You") and especially Joan Jett.

And I though some here might be interested in this shot of Berlin ("Take My Breath Away") with Terri Nunn. Not bad for 54.

The Romantics, Joan Jett, and Berlin? Very nice. Would have loved to see that.

The Romantics, from my native Detroit, were just starting to attract a modicum of national attention (for What I Like About You) when I left the city in early 1980 for a job transfer, never to return. Their biggest hit (Talking In Your Sleep, 1983) was yet to come. They never really hit the big time, but I liked ‘em because I thought they did fun stuff.

Thanks for sharing.

Sept. 6
Kansas & Blue Oyster Cult Gotta be a great show!
But,

On 3rd street: aims RIGHT down to the Downtown Grand.
Don't try to sleep B-4 1 AM,Sunday night.
It will be LOUD.

4 Queens bar, no standing required....

FYI, I would love to see the Motels and the Tubes.

I'm Tony and I'm addicted to Vegas.

That's an interesting strategy. Thanks for suggesting it.

Very cool forkie, all good bands/music I still listen to. Although I can't stand "take my breath away", Berlin has some other great tunes(Sex..I'm a ....,Metro, well, the entire pleasure victim album). I remember Terri Nunn being hot back then, glad to hear she's still hot. How was Joan Jett looking?

Like I said, I was in the cheap seats - or rather the cheap general admission standing room, until I decided to "upgrade" myself. The shot below is probably at about 5x magnification. But from my vantage point, she looked, and more importantly, sounded great. Everyone did.

If I got that close to Joan Jett I would probably officially become a stalker. I have always had a fan crush on Joan, starting way back with the runaways. Ooooooh, Sandy West another teen hottie, may she rest in peace till I get there.

I would venture to guess that shot was during "I love rock 'n roll", yes?
..and yea, she still looks pretty good, as much I could tell there anyway.
