Free T-Shirts at Sacramento Kings gam...... OOOPS.

The Kings were to give out free T-Shirts celebrating the Chinese New Year. They really didn't notice what year it was in the cycle

.

Ray

Sorry I can't post a link to the story from this cheap àss tablet. Maybe someone can do it for me.
More Political Corectness bullshit. How many centuries has the Chinese lunar celebration been in place?

Kings cancel Lunar New Year promo
On a similar note...

On a similar note? I don't think so. Should we pretend Chinese traditions and holidays don't exist? Should anything dealing with a monkey automatically be associated with being black?

How is that even close to "a similar note"?

For someone calling others racist so often you sure do come up with some questionable post'.
forkush is not happy unless he is stirring the pot with some asinine remark. Engaging him in any discussion is a complete waste of time and effort.
Looks like cousins is the one with the problem

The King day flyer was insensitive because it used the image of an assassinated, non-violent civil rights leader to advertise a 'Fun Shoot'.

The Year of the Monkey T-Shirts were considered insensitive because one player pointed out that it was the beginning of Black History Month and blacks have been derogatorily slurred as 'monkeys' in the past.

The Monkey is a noble creature and I would much rather be associated with it than a rat or snake or rabbit. In fact I am a Monkey Man myself.

"People born in a year of the Monkey are witty, intelligent, and have a magnetic personality. Personality traits, like mischievousness, curiosity, and cleverness, make them very naughty. Monkeys are masters of practical jokes, because they like playing most of the time."

Yep. That's me.

Alan - you are making the assumption that the flyer wasn't photoshopped. Considering who posted it that is a distinct possibility.

No. I looked into that. It was actually from an Air Force Base in Georgia.
