Fremont St., what to do for a first-timer

I have friends who are going to Vegas for the first time and are hitting Fremont St. It's been quite a while since I've personally been down there, so I'm wondering what signature hotels/bars/sights that I should tell them to check out. So they feel like they're really experienced it. Gracias.

The Mob Museum
I'll second the mob museum if you find that kind of thing interesting.
Well besides singing up at all the casinos a couple of them still give you some free play. The up stairs at The D has old school coin droppers and sigma derby. Mermaids for a deep fried Twinkie.

Breakfast at Du-Par's at the Golden Gate.
I notice nobody has mentioned Glitter Gulch yet. Is it still there?
There is the zip lines and the Heart Attack grill if you are adventurous.
Oh is THAT where the Heart Attack Grill is??

Do any of the downtown hotels still give away decent gifts (cards?) for slot club sign-ups? A few years back when I was down there, I went to every hotel to signup and came away with about 6 new decks of playing cards.
I was down there last week and was pleased to see that the block between Neonopolis and El Cortez is becoming quite populated. There are at least 4 new bars, a couple of restaurants and a coffee house, as well as retail stores. They are small and fairly unique in a casual sort of way. Most of the downtown casinos have undergone some form of remodel in the past couple of years.

Neonopolis also has a few new inhabitants. Your friends should have plenty to keep them busy and entertained
Heart Attack Grill. Definitely. Its down on the end towards the ElCo. Cool vibe in there. The "nurses" are good looking and the burgers are to die for. Literally lol. They are really good. Just remind them that if they don't finish the burger they get spanked with a paddle by a hot nurse. I love the pool at GN. Happy hour starts at 5.
