FTC asking government to crackdown on hotel resort fees.

Once again Boiler proves to be lost. Nobody said they believed a law would make the final bill smaller. Learn how to read.....A law would force large corporations to conduct business with integrity and transparacy. I understand these things are new to you. Baby steps Boiler.....

Oh and one more thing....I know you look up to me tremendously but there's no need to call me Jesus. He was a far better man than I am. Just Lurker is good enough

Jesus Lurker, how out of touch one must be to qualify as the only American that is surprised by Vegas resort fees?...
Well, you could be one of the 600,000+ first time visitors that Las Vegas gets every year.

This has been another episode of simple answers to stupid questions.

Every year many, many foreign tourists are caught by surprise because of resort fees appearing on their final bill. And it's a very significant number for sure. So yes, you are making a very valid point. Las Vegas is not about entertaining Californians only....

Bernie would support this.

Another episode of Boiler making shit up to turn this into a Republican vs Democrat debate. Nobody said anything like this in this thread so before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.......maybe it's time to stop that malarkey.

I'd wouldn't mind for an ala cart fees as the only thing I even use is the wifi. It's worth a $10 spot a night if I decide to use it.

Lurker is telling us that when the room price is posted at $200, yet the web site or person on the phone clearly explains that the cost will be $230, Europeans are too stupid to tell the difference. I thought that Lurker only believes that black people and Liberals are too stupid to understand such a simple concept.

It appears bm has never done a room search on web sites that list rooms by price and throw in that a resort fee may apply and will be collected at check-in. Not particularly surprising.

I'm actually kinda surprised Boiler actually knows how to use a computer. Without doubt one of his biggest accomplishments in life. Just when you think Boiler couldn't post anything dumber he pulls it off again. Quite a questionable honor for Boiler!

And Boiler again shows he's really good at making shit up. I never said Europeans, black people or liberals are too stupid to understand the concept of resort fees. It is nevertheless very clear Boiler is too stupid to understand he's striking out again and again. Boiler obviously thinks that most international travellers call Las Vegas resorts to make reservations. Boiler probably doesn't travel much (at least not outside the good old US of A).
Boiler must be a genius, as I've NEVER been surprised by a resort fee. Why, you ask? Because the hotels tell me about the charge. I guess that the term "Caveat emptor" applies only to geniuses like me.

How many of you also believes that government needs to protect you from a 32 ounce cola? The next thing that you know, Washington will control what our children eat at lunch.

The fees are a nuisance, but more importantly, the government is too involved in our lives.

Ah...not protect us as in preventing us from buying it....but protection as in truth in labeling so they can't fill a labeled 12 ounce can of Coke with 10 ounces of product. I imagine Boiler objects to any government required labeling of food products. I'm kind of glad the FTC requires labeling the ingredients so consumers can compare.
Boiler believes that government involvement in such matters is a slippery slope. Besides, no one is surprised by the fees.

Many years ago when government began act like a protective mommy and daddy for children, Boiler suggested that government would next tell us what we can eat. Liberals slammed Boiler for suggesting such a thing, but we know now that I was correct.

The next thing you know a bunch of you guys will vote for a Socialist for president.
