Earth Cracks from Liquefaction in Japan
Very cool video. I bet scientist use this footage to teach how the earth moves up-and-down during an earthquake. I've seen earthquakes lift up ground or sink ground before but a video of the earth moving a few inches up and down, up and down is really unique.
Wow. The only other visual record of liquefaction I know of is from Anchorage in...1964?

The camera operator was much calmer than kevzilla would have been.
The guys standing what was once a piece of water, now covered with land. Nice movement near the end of the video. No sound, just ground moving like it was nothing. Yikes!!

Cool video. I didn't look yesterday because I thought it was probably about St. Patricks day. I wrote down the link and I'll slip it to my daughters science teacher when he comes through my lunch line today.
