At one of the casinos I used to work at, we had a little old lady who would come in with an assistant to help her load $100 bills into machines. She would take up an entire bank of $100 machines, playing max coin ($300) per spin.
At that denom, she would hit taxable jackpots every few spins, so we had to assign a slot host to follow her and record all of her wins, to be calculated later for one tax form. As soon as one machine would lock up, she'd move to the next, and hope that the first machine would be cleared before she made her rounds through all 6 $100 slots.
I know at least once she lost $250k in an evening. However, she had so much money that she didn't worry about it.
Gambling addict? I don't think so....she was a bored widow, had more money than she knew what to do with, and came to the casino to be treated like royalty. We threw lavish birthday parties for her, gave her all kinds of stuff, and waited on her hand and foot. I think she just liked the attention.
Saw another high-limit patron talking to a cage cashier one time, and overheard the patron saying they only had 1/2 hour before heading home, so they only wanted a $50,000 marker to play the slots. Same thing....$100 slots, max coin.
I need a better paying job.
