I think you nailed it. Not addicted, just a bored old lady. I heard dealers on a cruise ship talk about an old widow who would cruise once a month. She would take up every space on the blackjack table and place 10K a hand. I don't remember if they had 7 or 8 spaces but you get the idea.
She was bored and lonely and loved the attention she would receive while on the ship.
What a lot of people don't understand is that it is all relative. If you are making or are worth millions $25.00 blackjack is not going to excite you.
