Gambling results.

Been gambling every night for the past week. Playing Ultimate Texas Hold em. Was up $700 for the week until yesterday. The Ultimate table was full at the casino, so I played some 3 card and then migrated to the poker room. I was down $200 when I returned to the Ultimate table. I lost another $600.

While there I observed an old Hippie complaining to an elderly Vietnamese man about his cigarette smoke.
The Dealer tells Omar, the hippie to settle down. Omar says he has emphysema and he had to quit smoking. Omar loses his money and leaves.

I'm down $800 and go home and pick up wife and we go to another casino. We're playing Ultimate. I drop another $1,100, wife is starting to get vocal about my losses. I got a bad feeling, $1,900 down for the day. I pull out one more hundred and promise her If I lose that, we'll leave. She and I get on a heater and win $1,450. Net loss for the day reduced to only $450. which I consider a win.

AT the 2nd casino, one of the dealers was a former co-worker of mine from my company. He had been terminated for just cause. It was a little awkward and I considered leaving, but I stayed. During his rotation at our table, I lost a lot. I'll listen to my Kharma next time.

Congrats on the recovery.

So, that casino doesn't do much of a background check when hiring dealers??

Illegal stuff shows up but not if you get fired for mouthing off or excessive absences.
The gaming control background check looks at your criminal & arrest record, and also your credit report.

The casino department may also check your criminal record, and other factors they feel may impact their decision to hire, ie: drug screening, health check, references, precious employment, etc. And depending on your "juice", may overlook some things at their discretion.

It's always just cause.
Just cause they feel like it....
