Gasoline has dropped as low as $1.81 (cash payment) in Hoosierland

The huge BP plant in Whiting, IN (6th largest US refinery) is back up and running at full capacity after they had a major problem with one of their massive distillation towers. After this happened the plant was only running at some 1/3rd capacity. Although oil prices were dropping, local gasoline supplies were tight and prices jumped some 70 cent per gallon. After the initial supply shock was swallowed up by regional refiners, we move from about $3.00 down to about $2.50. It's dropped about 60 cents per gallon further to the current prices over the past several weeks.

I'm driving to Chicago for a Bears game, and to South Bend for the Notre Dame vs USC game over the next 5 weeks, and this will make for cheap travels.

Yippee!
Low to mid 3's in California. Thank you liberals. We have the highest taxes and yet they have taken funds for road maintenance and moved them elsewhere.

It is still $2.39 in the southern tip of the state. Although you can cross the river into Kentucky and get it for $2.12. When I get my next car, I think it is going to be one of those diesel VWs as diesel is often cheaper or the same price as regular unleaded in this neck of the woods.

fed up with the oil companies and the government, I bought a mazda 2 (subcompact) in 2011 when gas was around $4 a gallon. no regrets, and when gas prices drop I enjoy it that much more. when gas prices are down, I can fill up for $20 or less and drive to work for 2 weeks. I drive my mustang (gas hawg) on my days off.
Is PJ willing to tell us about oil production growth on public property where Obama has great influence, and oil production growth on private property where Obama has little influence.

I think not.

Really? Diesel has always been about .20 to .50 cents more expensive here(mid-atlantic). It used to be less expensive buts that's many years ago.

Diesel is generally more in California.

They do..as long as you take good care of 'em.
Some of the dozers we were running on my dad's mine were older than me, early 60's. Started every morning, even it was 30 below and ran smooth as a sewing machine.
