Wow! look at what the line did once the word on Rodgers hit the wire.

t took just over 24 hours to find out exactly how much Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is worth to the Las Vegas point spread.

On Sunday afternoon, the Packers opened as a 10-point favorite at the LVH sports book for their Week 10 meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly after the news broke that Rodgers would be out of action for at least the next three weeks, the line reappeared on the board at Green Bay -2.5, making Rodgers worth more than a touchdown to the Las Vegas line.

Quarterbacks can make a big difference. The year Peyton Manning sat out at Indianapolis, the Colts went from a perennial playoff team to threatening to go winless.

I don't put much stock in injuries. These players are all pro and someone has to pick up the slack. That's the largest move I've ever seen a line move due to an injury. I'd take the packers right now with no questions asked!

True, look at Fowles(sp?), he just threw 7 TD's, yikes.

Foles is the new Brady.

Foles probably had more to do with the line move than Rodgers. Can you believe this idiot Kelly saying that he hasn't decided who is going to start this weekend? I guess throwing 7 TD passes doesn't mean much to him.

Kelly said Foles is starting this weekend. Kelly declined to say that Foles was the long term starting QB.

Of course it all depends upon how good the backup quarterback is, but I can see if a team loses an elite quarterback (like P. Manning, T. Brady, A. Rodgers, D. Brees) where the line could shift 8 to 10 points. I would think the loss of a starting quarterback that isn't elite status, would probably be anywhere from 3 to 7 points.

Wouldn't be supprised to see Grandpa Favre to make an appearance ?
