getting a host

what is the recommended way of getting a casino host? And, if you are checking out early in the morning can you find a host to deal with comping your meals, room or whatever? The couple of times I tried it it seemed like a bit of a hassle
If I check out early in the morning at a property where I do not have a host, I usually go to the players club before they close the evening before. They will call th host on duty or the player development dept to determine how much they can take off your bill

As far as getting a host, I don't know. The only hosts I have ever had have made initial contact with me. Some casinos have a host office or a host desk, and I suppose you could just go there and ask to speak to the host on duty.
I called El Cortez and left a message. He never called me back. Guess my play last trip wasn't enough.
If primarily a slot player, ask the CSR to find you a host. Same at table games, just tell the floorman you want a host. Ask at the hotel desk. Just say you would like to meet a host. You could even get a host by picking up a house phone, and asking to be connected. You could probably even ask a security guard. Anyone with a radio or telephone can "summon" a host for you.

You could also just ask where the host offices are and "walk in", although some casinos have them in a non-accessible area.

Usually very easy to meet a host when on property, although sometimes they are busy kissing high roller butt and may take awhile to arrive.
