Coming to VEGAS at the end of SEPTEMBER for the BARRETT / JACKSON auto auction
and am i glad that i booked well in advance [JUNE] i have been watching the prices.
airline price [S.WEST.]went up over 200.00] and the hotel [Excalibur] [nearly doubled in price since booked!]

I already booked for July, 2012.

I do lose the time value of my $99.00 deposit, but if all of a sudden someone books an event that week, the rates could double.

Not sure the auction drives prices that much.
A couple years ago we went.
I asked our Bellgio host if he could score us some Barrett/Jackson tickets (not that much, just to avoid standing in line).

He said "Sure. Where are they playing?"

That's the week that Caesar's/Harrahs did their bait and switch on me (see my thread "reneging on offers"). I was able to get into the Rio on a semi-comp.

Needless to say, I'm already planning for Rodeo Week, and will definitely get booked by mid-October.
