Going to LV with a bum foot.

So ten days before I head out to LV I have aggravated a tendon in my foot and have to wear a removable cast. Planning on going and looking into renting a scooter. But concerned that it's not going to be worth it with the hassles out weighing the fun.

Any input from people that have been and used a scooter would be appreciated. Using this
https://www.702scooters.com/las-vegas-scooters-rentals-victory9.html for the rental and moved to the Planet Hollywood for more central location.

Planning on canceling the car rental and making do with cabs.

Thanks
I used to out to Vegas with a friend that needed a scooter to get around. We couldn't use cabs because the thing was way too big to mess with. We had to get around on the bus and it was a pain getting on and off at peak times. You may want to check out renting a Segway. I don't know if you could break it down to fit in the trunk if a cab or not, but if it does, it would be a lot easier to load and unload.

Let me know how this works if you rent one.

I had a gf who had to rent one and there are speciality cabs that can take the scooter. You basically roll up and in. It can be done and you can still have alot of fun, just have to do some planning.
Thanks guys, didn't know there were cabs with ramps for the scooter. I plan on just hanging around the strip near PH. Plenty to do there. Can walk if have to just hurts and the more I walk the more it hurts.

You came to the right place gandolf. Wife and i were just in vegas in sept. and i had to rent a scooter,so i'm the guy to talk to. First off, don't cancel the rental, you'll want it. Second, rent one of the scooters that breaks down, they break down into like 5 pieces, the heaviest being the battery. Most valets know the routine and are helpful about it,course i tipped 'em well for that. Can't remember the name of the place i got it from but i think it was called LV scooters and rentals.Google it,you'll find it. Third,it's not as prohibitive as you think at getting around, where to park it,etc. Navigating the sidewalks was kinda a bitch, but we tried to avoid that. It's always easy to find a place to park, especially in the casino, just find a little nook close to where you are playing. I had no trouble at all with either table games or machines.

I'm happy to answer any questions yo might have as i was kinda freaking at the thought of having to navigate a scooter around vegas. We were downtown (2 nights) and the strip for a week,no problem at all with either.

PS,just clicked on your link. Thats the place i used. Oh yea, they deliver the scooter right right to your hhotel, they leave it with concierge or right to your room if you're there. I had no problems whatsoever with them.It was there on arrival and i left where i picked it up.
John, the info about getting around in the casino and shops was my biggest question. Like how hard is it to maneuver ? And is restaurants what do you do ?

Also worried about leaving it unattended, the web site made a big deal of not doing that.

I rented on and am going to try it, they said I could cancel and get a refund if I don't like it. I plan on just using it around the strip and have decided to curtail some of my plans, like going to M for lunch. May take a cab downtown for a few hours and leave the scooter behind. I can walk it just hurts to and I end up slowing the healing process.

Thanks

George
If there is one thing you have to do when visiting Vegas is WALKING!! Lots of walking!

Sorry to hear about your injury.

The good news is that Vegas is very wheel chair and scooter friendly.

You'll be fine, just talk to nice to people, and they'll take care of you.

Good luck on your trip!

The casinos and shops are the easiest, its the strip that can be a B, mainly because of the people. I was worried about leaving it alone also, but it has a key and by the end of the week i woulda left it alone by the el cortez (well, maybe exaggerating a tad),but just use common sense just as anything you do in vegas. Restaurants were more than helpful to accommodate in anyway. As a matter of fact when we bought the 24 hr buffet pass at harrahs, planet hollywood,to get to the buffet downstairs had to use the elevator.Well it pops out right on the other side of the lines and they always just took us immediately to VIP/DL seating. WOW! didn't ask for it,they just did it..and every time after that as well. COOL!

And remember, its really easy to take apart and reassemble,my wife and i did many times and the valet guys were usually very helpful.

ENJOY George and good luck! Happy to answer any thing else.

Sorry to hear about your injury, be thankful it is temporary.
I say a day in Vegas with a bum foot is still better than a day at home 100%.
lol
Our local grocery stores offer free scooters, you could go try one there if available.

Love the info about the PH buffett, planned on eating there several times as I have coupons for it. Good info on leaving alone also. Feeling much better about using it now. Appreciate the advice, thanks.
