Gold Coast Buffet

Text
I took a trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago, and ate at many buffets, and the Bellagio was the best by far, buy I wanted to comment on my bad visit to the Gold Coast buffet.

I ate at the GC buffet about 4 times in the past, and the food was average, and no problems until my last trip.
When I was eating there, dust was falling down from the ceiling onto my plate, and when I went up to the food, glass covered most of the food, but once again there was dust on the napkins which were not under the glass.

I later found out that the bowling alley is directly above, and when the bowling balls hit the alley, thats when the stuff falls. They need to clean, and put a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling , or put up a canopy, or covering above. I won't be going back there. Has anyone else noticed this?
I went there for lunch a couple years ago. I didn;t experience the dust - but I did experience some lousy food. The salad bar was about on par with the one at your local Pizza Hut. Nothing was fresh. Everything was either processed or canned. The desserts tasted like the ones my sister used to make in her Easy-bake oven when she was 8.
We last dined at the Ports O'Call buffet in October with the following being my TR notes:

Our breakfast buffet was disappointing on a number of levels including the absence of ripe fruit and no Chinese or Italian food. My huevos rancheros suffered from stale tortillas and overcooked eggs. ($4, 1.5 Forks)
In the LVA Coupon Book is a coupon for the Gold Coast buffet.
After you earn 200 same day points, you get a "free" buffet.

In my opinion the buffet isn't as good as it used to be,
but the coupon is great for going in there with the intent of only snacking-out .....
having a cup of coffee, a few deserts and make your own ice cream sundae (if they have that),
...... probably the best use of the coupon (and the buffet).

Never noticed the dust before, something else must be going on. No way the Health Dept would let them keep doing that.

Take the free shuttle over to the Orleans buffet and hope they haven't screwed it up too.
I've eaten there many times (as recently as December, mostly breakfast) and have never noticed any dust either. Something is going on besides the bowling.
I'll be back there in 4 weeks. Hopefully the dust will have cleared.
