Gold Coast Question..Rock n Rick please advise

Just booked airfare for April trip...After reviewing online and mailers for booking our stay The Gold Coast is offering us the best value comping us room,FSP & food credit. We have only gambled there a few times and were surprised by there offers. We usually stay(4-5 nights) at The Orleans and stay Downtown for a night. We are thinking of changing it up this time and would appreciate any info/experiences at this property, thanks
They have cheap booze in their liquor store and a bitchin' bingo parlor. What else do you need to know.
The renovated rooms at the GC are pretty good. They are really the same as most Boyd property rooms with the little window in the shower. The rooms are small, but nicely decorated. The one negative for me are the very firm pillows on the beds. They are still small rooms, but the design doesn't waste space, so they feel more spacious than they really are.

I like the GC. The staff has been quite nice. The 9/6 video poker at the main bar is a good play and the bartenders are ready with drinks.

I like the Orleans better, better machine selection, bigger casino, but have always been treated well at the Gold Coast. They are one of my regular stops.

3Card,
I always stay at The Orleans (never at the Gold Coast), but like the Gold Coast because they have plenty of VP there and it's a stop for The Orleans shuttle too.
Also, it's a Boyd casino, so my points go on the same card.

If you have played and stayed at The Orleans for 4-5 nights,
I'm guessing that they should give you very close, if not the same "room, FSP & food credit" that the Gold Coast is offering.

Since The Orleans is a nicer property and with much more to offer, I'd check with a host there.
Tell them just what the GC is offering, and see what they can do for you.

I'll drink to that!
if you are a late night diner, i think your choices are limited to tgifridays and ping pang pong.

the rooms are really nice.
The premium room that I stayed in last month was very nice; done in earth tones, flat screen TV, comfortable bed. The bathroom had a sliding door, which you should close at least partially or the light from the bathroom window may flood the room in the morning(I like a dark room for sleeping). Ping Pang Pong offers solid Chinese food and reasonable prices. The hotdog cart by the sportsbook is great for grabbing a quick bite. I play the 9/6 JOB at the center bar; bartenders never let you get thirsty. Table minimums are low; dealers at the craps tables have always been friendly. I have no personal experience with their steakhouse, but have heard good things about the food. I've stayed at the GC several times and always had a good experience. I do wish that they had in-room safes...you have to fill out some paperwork and leave $100 deposit to use one of their safety deposit boxes at the cashier's cage. I usually rent a car for my Vegas visits, so being off strip is not a problem. The Palms is across the street if you get the urge for some glitz and glamor.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times......

I remember that the Gold Coast used to have the BEST Bloody Mary mix in town. I haven't been there in years. If anyone has had one recently, could you please mention how it tasted.
The rooms at the GC are fine unless you're awful picky. They're not as large as some, but not tiny either. I like the rooms at the Orleans better as they are a mini suite with a sitting area that has a small sofa (actually a love seat) and chair. Both have small bath ares. Food options are better at the Orleans. You could make far worse choices for a room.

Good Luck!
