Day 2
Pool Time
In order to recover from the banana football drink a little R&R was absolutely necessary. The Flamingo has 3 pools. The main pool offers a variety of adult games, music and thousands of toasted over 21 year olds. It opens at 8 am. At about 9am, we changed into our suits, grabbed our towels and off we go. There was a line to get in where a massive security guy was carding people. We showed our room keys and no we didn't get carded (damn it). We grabbed a few towels and went in search of 2 chairs. After circling the area, we couldn't find any chairs. We asked a nice security guard for suggestions. He pointed us toward "the family pool" where we found a spot. Not too many kids in it and the ones that were in the pool were well behaved. There is a 3rd pool called "the slide pool". It opens at 10am and had a long line of wild kids/adults waiting to get in.
Lunch
After shaking and baking ourselves we cleaned up and went for lunch at the Miracle Miles shops. We ended up at Ocean One (I think that is the name). Anyway, we were sitting at our table, waiting to place our order when a lady at the table in front of us suddenly hopped up. She had an unexpected lunch partner. There, climbing down the wall and then eventually crawling across the table was a big fat roach. Hmmm...do we really want to eat here? Our waiter appeared and I placed an order for the blackened talapia wrap...without roaches. He kind of looked at me funny...and I pointed out our little buddy from the other table. The lady was escorted to another area of the restaurant with the manager and the table was cleared & cleaned off. Our food arrived without roaches so we took a chance and ate. It was very good and the price was very reasonable...under $10 for the meal (roaches were extra I'm told).
The Evening
Was very uneventful...spent time at various slot machines. We visited the Mirage, Harrahs, Imperial Palace. Saw the Bellagio fountain show. Walked a gazillion miles. Had fun. I think at that point, I was still ahead money wise...however, that would all change.
Day 3 tomorrow
By the way, someone asked how much the cab ride was from the Flamingo to Downtown......about $15.
