Just some random comments on our trip
The Room
It started about 4:45 am. I had just gone to bed when an horrific banging started. A girl was shouting as she banged on the door next door ... "OPEN THE F***ING DOOR"! BANG BANG BANG and the screaming went on for about 15 minutes...don't know if she gave up, someone opened the door or if security came. Ah, Vegas!!
Breakfast
7am ish headed toward Bill's Gambling Hall and had breakfast at the Victorian Room. It was good. Service was good and fast, coffee was good and the price was reasonable for Vegas.
I really miss the old Bills with the Hot Dog stand and the $1 Margaritas and of course FAT ELVIS. Didn't catch him at Harrah's. They have cleaned Bill's up some. I think it's nicer but not better. They turned the hot dog stand area into a larger poker room.
After Breakfast I settled down at a $5 minimum Roulette table at Bill's. It was just me and the dealer. I WON!! I love early morning gambling!
Went back to Flamingo where I headed to a $10 minimum table. It was me and 2 drunken soldiers and 1 sober soldier. My numbers hit over and over. Cashed out over $300 ahead. It was fun. Again, I love early morning gambling!
LUNCH was at NY NY...love the food area. We had a hot dog...excellent! Didn't win at the casino.
All 9 of us went to Margaritaville for dinner. Waited maybe 15 minutes for a table. Ended upstairs. Had a nice view. We all ordered drinks Mine was a Havanas Bananas...I know, I took a big chance on drinking another banana drink! For dinner I ordered Cheeseburger in Paradise. Fries were cold, hamburger just ok. Volcano Nachos were shared. I really don't care for the food but the drinks are great!
Gambling
Hit all neighboring casinos...could not lose at the Mirage..every machine I played at I won. At all other casinos I lost. We went to the Cosmopolitan....it is DROP DEAD gorgeous. When you sign up for their players card you get a $15 gift card to Zappos...only ended up costing me $100.
Took a cab from Cosmo to the Wynn. I really like the casino and I like their drinks...served in real glasses and fast service. Didn't win but we had a ball.
Imperial Palace
I love the Palace. And now they have brand new bathrooms!!!! Major improvement! It is still dark and smokey but the bathrooms are nice. I didn't win a dime here. Tried to get on the Roulette tables but they were too full. Slots were fun but tight.
Final Comments
I saw more police officers patrolling the strip than I have ever seen.
Less porn slappers were out.
Not as many panhandlers on the walkways.
People collecting for charity on the street corners were the most obnoxious.
Saw so many more costume characters and lots of characters for kids.
I love Fremont street regardless of my banana ordeal.
Probably won't stay at the Flamingo again....but the location was great.
I won playing roulette but lost on most of the slot machines.
We took Southwest home...no issues this time. Our direct flight was overbooked. SW asked for volunteers to take the next available flight. They were offering $300 cash, reimbursement for one way ticket, hotel for the night, and would book you on the first available flight out the next morning.....very tempting but didn't' do it. Sigh......
Can't wait for my next trip to Vegas........
