Golden Nugget

For the past 25years every year twice a year I stay on the strip. This year I am finally staying downtown at the Golden Nugget in the carson tower Do they have coffee pots in each room? I just had a stay at the Venetian Beautiful BUT to much walking for me getting to old!! lol Thanks for any info
As of our last stay---last Sept---they had the Keurig pots in the Carson Tower, with the pods, but the pods were $10/four pods. We carry a single cup coffee maker with, so we didn't use theirs.
And the Keurig cups are sealed in a box and you do not get to see what kind or flavor you are getting. I received some k cups upposedly free because there was none in our room when we got there, so we never realized that they cost $10 because housekeeping brought some to us opened and apologized and told us they would not be charged them to our room. We just said ok, not knowing that it was a $10 charge and when I got my charge card bill it was on it!!! So I would bring my own coffee pot or at least bring some k-cups if you have them. We went back and that is what we did. No charge.
for the rooms with the kuerig coffee pots, why do you have to bring your own coffee maker instead of just bringing your own K cups? seems like they would take up a lot less room in your luggage

We carry our own small coffee pot unless we know they have Keurig - then we carry the K-Cups.

We carry a very small one-cup maker that takes up little room, especially when we fly SWA with free bags. But mostly, we carry our own because we typically stay at two locations and one does not have a pot at all. Yep, we are cheap, but mostly because we like to get up late and move slowly on a few days of our stay, so we make our own coffee and don't have to get dressed, and go stand in a long line with the yuppies, and be over charged for a coffee, and not have refills. But that is just us, to each his/her own.
Thanks for the info.I was just at the store ( Pennsylvania) and they have a sale 10 K-cups in a box for $4.00 Guess I should buy a box and bring it along. My first time staying downtown so I am not familiar with anything down there. I can do the strip blindfolded but not Freemont! Thanks

We made the switch from the Strip to Downtown/neighborhood casinos years ago, and have never thought of going back. But different people see it differently. None of my business, but if you have not joined the paid side here, the LVA book of coupons is very strong for a DT stay---it costs $37 and includes $40 in free play DT, plus 2/1 buffets at MSS, Fremont, Gnugget, and Magnolas. If you care to ride the SAMs Town free shuttlE from Cal/Fremont, it is an additional $10 in free play and a 2/1 at SAMs. hope you enjoy your DT stay.
The Carson Tower is perfectly decent and even upscale compared to neighboring properties...but the Rush Tower is much nicer than Carson. They upgraded my mother to Rush from Carson Tower without even asking...so it might be worth asking - even if you need some help from Andrew Jackson.
Thanks for the info! Getting older the knees are not what they used to be so thought why not give DT a try. On the strip I dodged a flying beer bottle a girl so strung out she was wacko and a young guy followed me off the elvator from the pool, after 5 min of talking when he stooped down between room doors I knew he was waiting for me to go to my room I figured when I put my card in he would push his way in rob me . I come from the streets so little did he know he had the wrong one. Im a gambler so DT should be perfect. Appreciate any info
