All of we gamblers would be far more enthusiastic if the fee was a symbolic figure like lucky $7.77.
I see once again that all of those that have responded to this posting are, according to the all knowing, all seeing Chilcoot, wrong - obviously we should hand Chilcoot our money and let him spent it for us. Chilcoot forgot to list the "other"reasons as to why Vegas is a better deal- 1) rip off "resort fees", 2) 6/5blackjack, 3) long hauling, 4) ever increasing air fare, 4) ever increasing car rental fees and charges, 5) 11 am check out and 4 pm check in times, 6)gutted video poker pay schedules,7)ever increasing room, food and beverage prices, 8)ever increasing show ticket prices and additional fees,9) across the board reduction of comps, and 10) idiots telling us just how good we have it in Vegas.

Latest addition to doc's hate list: Las Vegas
" Latest addition to doc's hate list: Las Vegas"--- Wrong, Melonhead. I love Vegas ( the way it used to be), I just hate the direction it is going. And it is only going to get worse as time goes by. What I do hate is those who tell me just how good we have it in Vegas as they tout how we should spend our money.

I have to agree. If you want to see the way Vegas should be run, watch the end of the movie "Casino". When I first started going, the pit bosses would ASK ME if I wanted anything. Now you have to almost beg just to get a lunch buffet. I haven't been to Vegas in almost two years. The more I look around, I think they are trying to nickel and dime us to death. When I go, I take "X" number of dollars and intend to come home broke. If I win money gambling, I'm going to do more things that I normally don't do. I'll see some shows, buy things to bring home, maybe go to a club.... You get the idea. Here's the deal. You're going to get my entire budget one way or another, PERIOD!!!! I'm not going to plan an extra couple of hundred bucks for any petty little fees you try to extort out of me. BOTTOM LINE!!!!

Ray
The budget Vegas trip is certainly getting harder to take. My last trip cost me about $1000 and included 3 nights, 2 shows, 1 attraction, modest amounts of gambling, and some really great meals. I remember when I first started going it seemed like $1000 got me a lot more.

Vegas continues to bite the hand that wants to feed it. I guess with the all the momentum that Downtown has had I shouldn't be surprised that they've dreamed up a BS fee of their own. No doubt, all of the other downtown joints will eventually follow suit.

In some sick way, I guess I'm glad I won't be back for a while.

I remember you now. You were that stick in the mud we keep running into in Vegas. You complain about pay tables as you are hitting the buttons and cursing the dealer at the BJ table after you split 9's against his face card. You shove your way through the buffet line just to tell everyone how bad the food is.
etc.etc.
