A good friend of mine works at the US Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia.

She sent me an email yesterday, during which she explained that when in public in Tunisia she has learned to not look men in the eye and to not smile in their presence. Furthermore, she said that while standing in a line it's common for a man to simply push woman out of line. The woman then must drop behind the man, then hoping that another man doesn't do the same.

I'm assuming these are the moderate Muslims that people keep talking about.
I'm sure lurker will dispute this saying he's lived in Tunisia for a long time, still has friends and family there and they claim this is pure hooey.
Sue did say that many of the woman are "lovely". The men, not so much. Oh, and there is no pork sold. She's only been in Tunisia for 9 months, and pork used to be sold in isolated places. This does not happen any longer as terrorism has become more intense.
I'm not sure I understand the connection between pork and terrorism, but it would be difficult financially to harvest pork in an area where the vast majority don't eat the stuff. #SellingSnowConesInAlaska

That's terrible.

But compared with Tunisia, an American woman is about 70% more likely to be murdered. That's terrible too.

There is a point to this thread. But I'll be darn if I know what it is.

My nutty Uncle Fred spins yarns that baffle me, too.
Ok now you're just making places up. Tunisia? lol

DonDiego supposes the point of the original post is to suggest that the behavior of Tunisians, especially young male Tunisians, may fall short of what, f'rinstance, Western Europe and the United States consider decent manners.

And. given that the official religion of Tunisia is Islam, that the behavior of young male Muslims generally may be similar.

Recent incidents in Europe suggest some credibility for this view:
__ Sexual Attacks Widen Divisions in European Migrant Crisis
__ Young Asylum Seeker Stabs Swedish Woman to Death

DonDiego suggests the interested reader, if any, Google, f'rinstance, the New Years Eve "attacks" on women in several European cities by the Muslim "migrants".
It seems, quite aside from the risk of terrorists among the "migrants", there are questionable differences in normal behavior standards which are making them less welcome.

The originator of this thread likely disagrees with the policy announced by the White House on 10 September 2015:
"President Barack Obama has ordered his administration to 'scale up' the number of Syrian refugees admitted to the United States in the coming year, directing his team to prepare for at least 10,000 in the next fiscal year, the White House said Thursday."

If you serve pork in Tunis, there is a good possibility of your restaurant or store being bombed.

I'm not certain if Campion is joking or just ignorant. I'll assume the first.
