A good friend of mine works at the US Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia.

When Sue leaves the embassy to interact with Muslim males who push her around, she must eventually return. To do so, she must first traverse a serpentine of concrete barriers with a barbed wire perimeter, and then be removed from the vehicle as US Marines fully examine the vehicle, and finally she is patted down. She then traverses and second serpentine, and the balance of the process is repeated.

The woman then must drop behind the man, then hoping that another man doesn't do the same...
That's terrible.

But compared with Tunisia, an American woman is about 70% more likely to be murdered. That's terrible too.

Not doubting you at all here forkushV, but your calling card for years has been "Source?".
Lately you rarely don't provide any sources, just a cut, pasted, and cropped headline. Am I right?

My very very Liberal friend, Sue, lived until she went to work for the US Federal Government in the south 1500 block of Wabash Avenue in Chicago, which is 1/2 mile directly west of Soldier Field (where the Bears play). I can say with supreme confidence the she felt far more safe walking around her not so safe Chicago neighborhood (with folks that could be Obama's sons) than most any place that she now visits in Tunis.

She told me that the threat of terrorism is wearing, although she didn't specify if her concerns were from Buddhist terrorists, Catholic terrorists, or Muslim terrorists.
Duly noted. I'm scrapping that plan. I don't know what I would do without you.

While I can not attest to the original intent of point, the point I take is that once again fundamentalist Islamism is forcing it's way of life on those who do not adhere to their strict beliefs.
Tunisia is a democracy, though a very young one, that grants certain rights to all citizens. These rights are being denied, not by the government but by religious fanatics. Enforcement is through violent acts of terrorism.

The point I do not understand is that of Forkush and others who are quick to condemn, belittle and obfuscate the point while running down the U.S. (well, I guess I get their point, I just don't see how a rational person can believe it)
Cowboy is quite intuitive.

There are real cultural differences. Believe it or not there is an actual country right now where the conditions for women are so bad that the elected male leaders in this country constantly try and pass laws to make women including rape victims forcibly stick large objects up their vaginas as a pre-condition to getting medical treatment.

This particular country is so backward that in some parts of it rape victims are forced to pay for their own rape kit if they want to file charges against their attacker. Elected male leaders in this primitive culture posses all sorts of bizarre beliefs that they believe justify rape. Apparently, they believe a lot of women simply “rape so easy” that they should be denied medical treatment. That is a rape other than what they define as an “honest rape” should simply be forgiven. In such a case, the woman should simply, “make lemonade out of lemons.” Then they use the term “non-forcible rape” to describe rape in an incest or employee/employer type of situation. These backward folks think in such a case the woman should be forced to give birth to their rapist’s baby. In this backward culture, the elected male leaders cite religion to justify their outrageous beliefs and treatment of women.

I'm assuming these are the moderate Muslims that people keep talking about.

I'm just guessing, but is this the country where a 22 year-old intern gave a blowjob to her 49 year-old boss in the White House Oval Office and nobody seemed to care? How wrong is that!

Oh there's so much you don't understand Cowboy. How much time you got?

My point, which does not need your interpretation, is that anyone who condemns an entire religion over an anecdote (Boilerman, jatki, and possibly you Cowboy) is as ignorant as someone who would condemn an entire country over a crime statistic.

We all have room for improvement, don't we?

Perhaps you should edit that.... So....You're calling yourself ignorant?

And I do understand, the point of view anyway. How anyone can live with the contradictions of the that point of view is another thing completely.
