The wife of a GOP legislator in New Hampshire exclaimed "Thank God for Obamacare" recently to NH Senate hopeful Scott Brown.
Rep. Herb Washington (R-Lancaster) was injured at his job, forcing him and his wife to live on $2,000 a month in workers' comp payments for a while. Unfortunately, their COBRA health insurance cost $1,100 a month, leaving them little to live on. In fact, things got so bad the couple was forced from their house into a mobile home.
During a visit to their mobile home, former Sen. Brown tore into Obamacare, calling it a "monstrosity", among other things. But Rep. Washington and his wife Gail disagreed, pointing out that for them Obamacare's been a financial lifesaver.
They explained how Obamacare had cut the costs of their health insurance from $1,100 to just $136 a month, causing Mrs. Washington to tell him "Thank God for Obamacare!"
Cute story about how Obamacare's actually working for people from a little, 176-year-old newspaper in New Hampshire, check it out.
