I doubt there is anyone who visits Vegas regularly can say that the MRB is not worth the price of $37.00 (online membership)
What many seem to be saying is that the EV on this years MRB compared to most past years is significantly less.
Back in the "good ole days" (2009) I "found" enough +EV in the MRB to plan a 7 night trip and have a very realistic chance to cover the cost of my airfare, ground transportation, and frugal hotel room at Binion's. I far exceeded that initial goal of a "free week in Vegas."
As it worked out, I did very well, primarily only using the FSP, match play, bonus player club sign up offers, and 50% off buffets. The MRB offers "met" my expected values, and paid for my trip. I was (and still am) very frugal, so did a frugal trip, frugal good choices (buffets for dinner nightly), public buses instead of car rental, etc.
The down side was I had to make coupon runs daily, and visited (I think) 31 different casinos. And in the majority of those, I spent less than 20 minutes. Those coupon runs were "work", to use and redeem the "gambling" offers.
This year, a person will easily exceed the expense of renewing the LVA. There just is not as much profit as in years past.
It is a fair and reasonably priced bargain. For someone not quite as frugal (ie: most of the readers here), those who like to "dine", see attractions, shows, etc, it holds much more value.
Although I will not renew, I have no difficulty in reccommending it to novice tourists planning to visit Vegas. Knowledgeable Vegas repeat visitors will need to evaluate the offers for their particular circumstances.
THAT is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.
