He spends more time in hospitals than out. His wife left him, etc. His life is a bad country western song.....but we will get him thru this!
Anyway, I took him to Foxwoods last Saturday with $30 to try to give him a mental health day and he managed to make his small bank roll last way longer than I could have. He just enjoys walking around people watching and hoping and praying to the roulette gods.
At the end of the day trip he noticed a "free' football contest in the Rainmaker casino. You slide your rewards card, and all football game for this week pop up, you pick which teams you think will win, and then pick total points for Monday night football as a tie breaker.
On the Foxwoods website, it says last weeks winner managed to get 13 picks right and won $5,000! As of last night, my son has won 15 games!!! The total points of the game last night(which was his only loss) was 61 points and my son went with 55 points.
Foxwoods has NOT up dated there web site yet this morning and we are still hoping! wish us luck! one way or another, that free contest has given him (and me frankly) a "positive" escape from life for the last two days. God I hope he wins, not so much for the money but the bragging rights he will have. He will be talking about this week for months!

No matter the results of the contest, he's a winner in my book.

If he lost last nights game he doesn't have 15 wins as there were only 15 games this week. I also didn't realize that Foxwoods included the Thursday night game in their contests.

Best of luck to him, it really sounds like he deserves it.

Foxwoods just posted the results on their website and he lost (crap) He got 13/14 and the winner got all 14 and hit the tie breaker right on the nose at 61! well, like I said it was two days of much needed laughs, hopes, prayers and hand wringing but most of all it was the escape from the day to day things he goes thru.
Thanks for all of your good wishes to him, I will pass them along.

Sorry it did not work out. Your son is a true hero and pass on our thanks for his great service. My wife and I are both retired from the US Army and know full well the sacrifice that he endured. I hope thing get better and better for him.
Sorry to hear about that weggie. I wish your son the very best going forward. Goodness knows he deserves it.

Sorry he didn't want but glad you had some fun times with it. Thank your son for his service.
I wish he would have won, keep trying. Your son is a hero!
Glad you both had a diversion--many thanks to your son.
