Governor Pence finally did it (POL)

The Oklahoma Bill originally had language that specifically made discrimination forbidden. An Oklahoma Senator purposefully edited the bill to take out that provision. Boilerman has stated on this thread these bills are not meant to discriminate. The bills' authors disagree.

What then is next - Why not allow someone to marry their daughter or sister or dog?
Are you referring to inter-racial marriage? Marriage outside one's religion? Marriage to partners not of the parents choosing? Marriage where women have property and legal rights? Marriage without the intention of having children?

Over the years there have been many forms of "traditional" marriage, so please be specific.

The question was quite specific. You deflect and obfuscate instead of answering it.

Actually Bob, the word is ridicule.

I see a day soon when Churches will have their tax free status challenged if they do not perform same-sex marriage ceremonies in their Church.

I also see Forkush taking a second spouse marrying his dog (since he already married his sister in Mexico) --- or maybe this is just ridicule.
"I also see Forkush taking a second spouse marrying his dog"

So forky would be his dog's bitch?

It's so typical of a Liberal to take things out of context. Why does Chilly do that? Is it because the entire previous post wouldn't support Chilly's position? I would love to hear Chilly's response.

Same argument, same fate.

OMG, that was cooters response, so typical. Ask an honest question and get that BS, oh well not interested in what he has to say anyway. Hopefully some people give an honest thought out response.

edited ridiculous pics by me to save space on thread

How long will it be before Churches will be persecuted for performing gay weddings in their Churches? Will their tax-free exemption be at stake?

That was kinda my point. Where is the equilibrium between the two gonna be? People screaming nothing but gay rights, what about the rights of the religious folks?

BTW As an aside, I'm not a big religious guy myself, my wife is a regular church goer, brought up in the church and everything, and we both lean towards marriage is between a man and a woman. We fully think a civil union between consenting people is a perfectly acceptable compromise. Doesn't a civil union grant every right and privilege that marriage does? Marriage is a sacred bond that is granted and recognized by the church(plus, it's a "plumbing" issue, some things were meant to fit together and some weren't, plain and simple, nature's law so to speak.) And no forkie, I don't need to see a pic of some queer rhinos', baboons' or whatever, I recognize the deviations.

Good points. But is inter-racial marraige really a sticking point with most religions? Maybe wthe some eastern ones? I don't know. Anyway, good points and the answers I was hoping to see.
