This week he signed a bill that brings back Woolworth's lunch counters to their former glory. In the state of Indiana it is now legal for a business to discrimnate against any customer by virtue of the business owner's religous beliefs. In other words - its not really discrimination if their religion says its ok.
What a shame ... he was doing so well....
And now the economic impact is being foreshadowed. GenCon (an annual 50 million dollar convention), Salesforce.com, and even a Christian convention are threatening to boycott the state out of fear their consituents will be discrimnated against. Oh, the NCAA is livid too - especially since the Final Four is being palyed in town this year. They're also considering future options.
Hate has a price. So does electing a hateful person.
PJ you should probably just pack up and leave Indiana before any of this discriminates against you directly.
