Grease, why not Vegas

I just watched the FOX Grease Live show and wondered why Vegas has never had the Broadway show.

I'd think it would be a hit, especially at Palazzo Theatre.
Jersey Boys played well there (much better than at Paris).

Also, others have succeeded....Mama Mia was a hit at MB, Jersey Boys, Rock of ages lasted 2 years

Anyhow, I was just thinking of new shows Vegas do put on - that were not Cirque - circus shows.

There again what the Heck do I know.....I thought Joseph and his dreamcoat would have been a good show for Vegas.

I did hear a rumor 5 years ago about a show being developed using the music of the BEE GEES - I wish that would have happened.
I watched Grease last night, and thought that it was outstanding. My favorite plays are always musicals. I thought that two of the biggest standouts were Julianne Hough, and Vanessa Hudgens. I was very surprised by Hough's singing talents.

Both ladies are easy on the eyes.
My wife and I both thought Vanessa Hudgens stole the show. We didn't even know who she was. Just that the woman playing Rizzo was the best.

One part that disappointed me was that Frankie Avalon did not play Teen Angel. Frankie was Teen Angel when we saw Grease in Philly about 10 years ago.
Hudgens was great.

Why see amateurs perform Grease when the original star performs nightly at the Flamingo?
Olivia was just ok when we saw her last year.

It's a strange thing, what shows play well in Vegas and what does not. Mama Mia, Lion King, Phantom, Jersey Boys did great. Spamalot. Avenue Q did not do as well. Duck Commander flopped at Rio. There's just no accounting for taste.
I think John Melencamp would be good for a run in Vegas.........I'm still up for a Hollogram show of Red Fox or the Rat Pack!
We can argue all day long who was better, but the actors/singers doing Grease yesterday were all pros. I loved the original movie, but think that I prefered the live version yesterday. Happy with both.

My wife noticed Jan from the Brady Bunch as the shop teacher right away.

The only actress I really didn't understand was the principal's assistant. She kept making weird faces and at the end, seemed like she was laughing instead of crying.
I thought that was Jan from Brady Bunch, and mentioned it to my 22 year old boy...........who was rolling his eyes at the show. Shortly after that I went to my bedroom to watch the balance of the show, since I was concerned that he might hang himself otherwise.

Thanks for confirming.
