Great Idea For An LVA Coupon For Next Year

How about one that waives the Resort Fee for your entire stay. That would be a strong coupon that would get your membership fee back right away. What do you think?????

It sounds good but its too easy to manipulate, IMO. Hotels could couple the coupon with a "standard room rate" which is likely to be $15-$25 higher than the one on Expedia or even their own website. Room coupons in general seem to fall pretty flat in my experience. Good idea in concept at least.

Any hotel/chain they can get the deal with. Present the coupon at check in. That way you get the best price.

That would be pretty good at the Caesar's properties, especially if your lucky enough to have a comp room. You still pay the fee at their properties even on a free room.So a coupon waiving the fee would be huge.
Sounds like a good idea for a new LVA poll. Thinking outside the box, what new coupons should LVA try to come up with? A coupon for no resort fees would be a great start!
My wife and I want to try a zip line (Fremont St) and we wouldn't mind seeing a 241 deal in the coupon book for a run.

This would be a very popular coupon.

I'm not sure why Caesars would offer it. It's not consistent with their marketing strategies.

No. Make it for your entire stay (ok 4 night max Sun-Thur). They'll still make money. If people are staying at a hotel, they'll spend at least some money there everyday they're there. A room will be filled that might not be, one meal will be eaten there (at least coffee and a sandwich), and a little action in the casino. Since it might be too late to include it in the book for this year, make it a coupon that you have to print out. This way it only be used once and if the casino decides it's not a good fit for them (Not making money), it can be discontinued.

Don't get me wrong. I love the idea from a consumer standpoint. I'd use such a coupon whenever I could. I just don't think joints like Caesars will buy into it unless the fine print is so small that it doesn't apply to most situations. If they're sleazy enough to charge a resort fee (and most are now), what would motivate them to give up that $25? They figure they've already got you anyway and the resort fee is just extra easy pickings.
