This would be a very popular coupon.

I'm not sure why Caesars would offer it. It's not consistent with their marketing strategies.

Applies to 1 day only Sun-Thur. Minimum 3 day stay. Void where prohibited.

No. Make it for your entire stay (ok 4 night max Sun-Thur). They'll still make money. If people are staying at a hotel, they'll spend at least some money there everyday they're there. A room will be filled that might not be, one meal will be eaten there (at least coffee and a sandwich), and a little action in the casino. Since it might be too late to include it in the book for this year, make it a coupon that you have to print out. This way it only be used once and if the casino decides it's not a good fit for them (Not making money), it can be discontinued.

Don't get me wrong. I love the idea from a consumer standpoint. I'd use such a coupon whenever I could. I just don't think joints like Caesars will buy into it unless the fine print is so small that it doesn't apply to most situations. If they're sleazy enough to charge a resort fee (and most are now), what would motivate them to give up that $25? They figure they've already got you anyway and the resort fee is just extra easy pickings.

What about the Tropicana, SLS, M, South Point, etc, that are not your non-chain casinos? You never know what you'll get unless you ask?

I always ask for stuff and it never hurts. Waiving the resort fee could swing my decision toward any of those places you mentioned. For it to make sense from their perspective it would have to bring in people that wouldn't have stayed there anyway on a night that they have extra rooms.

resort fees suck. isn't is strange, it seems the casinos do their best to alienate their best customers. big things and little things alike. I pass on the "free" drinks most of the time only drinking water, that may cost them 10 cents a bottle. so would it kill them to comp me a pack of smokes after playing at a table for hours, $15 - $20 a hand? it seems they would rather insult me and make me get up and go to another casino, taking my bankroll with me. it just seems stupid. in my line of work, a customer in front of you with cash in hand is priceless, you do whatever you can, within reason, to retain that customer. or maybe I could get a rebate for all of the more expensive drinks that I did not take from them.

When I was going to Vegas in the early 80's, they used to have a tray of them sitting on the blackjack table and you could grab as many as you wanted. The way things are now, if they comped a pack for you, they would be afraid that you could come back later and sue them for giving you lung cancer.

I saw them take away a guys car keys one night when he had too much to drink. He was a local and kept bugging them for another drink after he was already wasted. The pit boss told him if he let him see his car keys, he could get one more drink. The guy gave him the keys and he kept them. He had one of the guards put the guy in a cab and send him home. He told the guy he could come back in the morning and get his keys. The guy was pissed but it might of saved his, and some other people's lives and avoided a massive law suit for the casino.
