BTW, I heard a great, funny oldie on the radio the other day -- "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose," by Little Jimmy Dickens. I saw him the 3 times I went to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville years ago.

If I had to pick 1 song it would be Patsy Clines Crazy. Anything by Johnny Cash.
So many of the old guard that I also would consider greats.
While I like some of the new stuff it's more like crossover music then true country in my opinion.

Exactly. And I can't believe I forgot about Johnny Cash! "Folsom Prison Blues" is a classic. Also Merle Haggard, another great one. There are just too many to mention, lol.

I'm not much of a C/W fan myself but only one i can think of right now that i used to crank up on occasion,
Hank jr "country boy can survive".
I lived with my older brother a few summers and his hank jr greatest hits album got played alot.
