Green light for sept trip!

I will be on fremont street the same time period as you. I will be one of the drunk guys (happy drunk mind you) at a craps table somewhere on Fremont Street all week (I said I was going solo he he)

I am doing the solo trip this time so I am not doing anything to big. The Golden nugget is having a craps tournament that week end and the flyer says they will have special rates for those who buy in. I havent checked to see what they are yet. If all else fails I will try Fitzgeralds for the first time. LVA has a deal for the Fitz where it is like $42 a day (average for a week) and they give you a cafe style breakfast free every day. The reviews I have read are decent. They say the Fitz has square rooms with a bed and TV....most importantly they are clean, which works for me!

2 Words to the wise for you, #1 I know you said you have feet problems but "DO NOT' GET A ROOM IN ANY HOTEL THAT IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE FREMONT STREET EXPERIANCE! or you will have an experiance all right!YOU HAVENT LIVED UNTIL YOU GOT THE PLEASURE OF HAVING AN EIGHT MILLION WATT MUSIC SPEAKER OUTSIDE YOUR HOTEL ROOM, GOING OFF UNTIL THE WEE HOURS OF THE NIGHT!(I digress) a little longer walk to the elevators on Fremont street are worth it. #2 I paid $19 a night to stay at the Golden Gate last december and they couldnt pay me $19 a night to sleep there again! Long story.....just take my word for it!

as far as bars go.....
#1 At the Golden Nugget, you buy your drink from a small bar outside the casino (a window) and then you walk a short distance to an area just outside the G.Nuggets Starbucks. This is the only place I can think of on Fremont street to "sit down" with a drink and people watch.
#2 The Golden Gate has a bar outside manned by two hotties (scantely clothed),but no where to sit
#3 There are also bars that open up late afternoon outside Binions and the Fremont, but again, no where to sit down that I remember anyway.

SEE YA THERE! WEGGIE

Out of all the Caesars properties why did you choose Harrahs? Other than IP and maybe Flamingo, it's near the bottom of the list, IMO.
Hi John,
Re: VP, ..... "Grinding away at a machine?", I find it exactly the opposite.
One reason I do play VP is because it's exactly the opposite for me, especially when one plays 700+ hands per hour.
Also, some of the intermediate hits can make you a big winner.

BTW, As discussed before, I will be in LV in early October, so if you want to arrange a meet,
Rock'n Rita and I should be available along with a few others, who at one time before expressed an interest.

Rick
To add to my previous post - there are also two places to sit outside with drink at the Fitz to people-watch. At street level you can go to the Krispy Kreme which you access from inside the building, get your coffee, and then go sit outside in the small gated-in area. Up on the second floor you can go to the bar and get something a little stronger, then go outside on the balcony. There aren't usually any cws coming out to take orders but the balcony is literally ten steps from the bar, so no problem going in to get your own when you're ready for another. They have probably 5-6 tables out there, and its an excellent spot to watch the goings-on.

Again,thanks all,
weggie, rick and everyone whos going to be in town,i'm going to try and get some kind of meet going if theres interest,i know melissa and i are. Any preferences? DT,strip, somewhere else?

Why Harrahs? I dunno, had 2 rooms out of ballys, rio,IP,harrahs and flamingo, stayed at rio twice and wanted to stay a little further north, plus IP is my all time favorite place to gamble, dont ask why but it is. I prefer smaller more "cozy"(for lack of a better term) place. The pit boss has remembered for years even after a few off and i'm a low roller. Plus i always seem to win there,so i'm sure thhat has something to do with it.

The fitz! AHA,i was pretty sure there was a second floor deck/bar place down there somewhere. I'll hit that place a few times for sure, eck, might even stay there. That and krispy kreme doughnuts~ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy. For those of you who haven't experienced what a true d-nut should taste like, hit the KK place when the HOT light is on,means fresh batchs' coming out. Can even eat them when wasted. Side story on 'em,first time i had them was after out with freinds in richmond and after many pitchers of margaritas and on the way home, the HOT light was on and we went thru the drive thru and picked up a dozen. I ate half of 'em,and i didnt even like sweets then! Trust me,they're great.

Back to more planning and research, getting pretty excited! A tad giddy you might say

Fitzgerald's has the Vue bar with a patio overlooking FSE.

Golden Nugget has GoldDiggers upstairs with the same thing (but it's only open in the evening).
