I will be on fremont street the same time period as you. I will be one of the drunk guys (happy drunk mind you) at a craps table somewhere on Fremont Street all week (I said I was going solo he he)
I am doing the solo trip this time so I am not doing anything to big. The Golden nugget is having a craps tournament that week end and the flyer says they will have special rates for those who buy in. I havent checked to see what they are yet. If all else fails I will try Fitzgeralds for the first time. LVA has a deal for the Fitz where it is like $42 a day (average for a week) and they give you a cafe style breakfast free every day. The reviews I have read are decent. They say the Fitz has square rooms with a bed and TV....most importantly they are clean, which works for me!
2 Words to the wise for you, #1 I know you said you have feet problems but "DO NOT' GET A ROOM IN ANY HOTEL THAT IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE FREMONT STREET EXPERIANCE! or you will have an experiance all right!YOU HAVENT LIVED UNTIL YOU GOT THE PLEASURE OF HAVING AN EIGHT MILLION WATT MUSIC SPEAKER OUTSIDE YOUR HOTEL ROOM, GOING OFF UNTIL THE WEE HOURS OF THE NIGHT!(I digress) a little longer walk to the elevators on Fremont street are worth it. #2 I paid $19 a night to stay at the Golden Gate last december and they couldnt pay me $19 a night to sleep there again! Long story.....just take my word for it!
as far as bars go.....
#1 At the Golden Nugget, you buy your drink from a small bar outside the casino (a window) and then you walk a short distance to an area just outside the G.Nuggets Starbucks. This is the only place I can think of on Fremont street to "sit down" with a drink and people watch.
#2 The Golden Gate has a bar outside manned by two hotties (scantely clothed),but no where to sit
#3 There are also bars that open up late afternoon outside Binions and the Fremont, but again, no where to sit down that I remember anyway.
SEE YA THERE! WEGGIE
